Why NPSⓇ scores Matter
In a business where nurses report high levels of stress and burnout, SHC believes we can improve lives by making the right connections both clinically and culturally. Studies show that nurses that feel respected and supported provide better care, while the hospitals they support report better patient outcomes. Measuring talent and client satisfaction via Net Promoter Score indicates the impact SHC is making. Learn more
Other measures of our impact
upskilling healthcare professionals
We partner with talent who are motivated to take their career and earning potential to the next level. SHC offers Homebase Training for home health professionals and will soon add Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA1 and CNA2) certification in key markets with high demand. In addition, our partnership with Hope Builders provides Medical Assistant (MA) and Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) training to caring professionals.
diversity in action
SHC is proud to support a diverse team of corporate and contract employees, and we commit our company to increasing opportunity through focused outreach, expanded training programs and other measurable efforts.
In an effort to create value for our customers, our employees and the communities we serve, SHC’s leadership team conducts routine assessments of our social and environmental programs. We have set goals and benchmarks for improvement in governance, transparency, employee engagement, DEI, community impact, the customer experience and limiting our waste production.
Real people. Real Positive change.
Serving the Communities we staff
Our Culture of Caring is at the core of everything we do—and its impact extends well beyond our own facilities. Check out a few of our philanthropic partnerships below.
SHC recognizes that better job opportunities offer individuals more certainty and stability in their careers and personal lives. As such, we are honored to support Hope Builders in their efforts to pave “a pathway to prosperity.” Hope Builders empowers young adults with mentorship, life skills, and skills training that meet the needs of employers. Training and job placements include construction as well as healthcare careers like medical assistants and behavioral technicians.
Supplemental Health Care is dedicated to creating more equality in the classroom so that all students can learn. As such, we are proud to partner with TNTP (formerly known as The New Teacher Project), a group that seeks to “end the injustice of educational inequality by providing excellent teachers to the students who need them most and by advancing policies and practices that ensure effective teaching in every classroom.”
SHC is committed to better supporting our nurses and other healthcare professionals and to ease the shortage of skilled caregivers. We proudly partner with Operation Happy Nurse, which exists to support nurses’ mental health and wellbeing. This organization offers a free, online community focused on improving overall mental health and physical wellbeing for certified nurses, regardless of their tenure, level, or specialty.
NATIONAL VETERANS TRANSITION SERVICES
The National Veterans Transition Service Inc. (NVTSI) created REBOOT Workshops in 2010. These workshops are designed to meet an acute need for a robust military to civilian transition program and close the gap of issues of both job seekers and employers. By addressing issues at their root cause, NVTSI and its network of partners help transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses successfully transition from the military-to-civilian world. SHC is honored to join in this worthy effort.
NATIONAL BLACK NURSES ASSOCIATION
For over 50 years, the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA)has provided a forum for advocacy and coalition building, promoting culturally congruent care. The association supports Black nurses, as well as their patients and communities, through signature programs, continuing education, scholarship opportunities, and health policy. NBNA’s mission is “to serve as the voice for Black nurses and diverse populations ensuring equal access to professional development, promoting educational opportunities and improving health.”
Supplemental Health Care is proud to support NBNA in their work advocating for Black nursing professionals and quality healthcare for persons of color. SHC supports NBNA’s continued mission to help address diversity in nursing and health equity.
