What is TravCon?
TravCon is the largest healthcare travel conference with over 1,500 attendees from across the country. This annual event was created by and for travel nurses, therapists, and other travel healthcare professionals. Since 2008, TravCon has connected healthcare travelers with leaders and peers as well as staffing agency partners.
This year’s convention will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and breakout sessions led by healthcare travel industry experts. On top of educational opportunities, TravCon sponsors events throughout the week such as a group hike, golf tournament, newbie bootcamp, and parties .
5 Benefits of Attending TravCon 2022
Education Opportunities
Educational opportunities at conferences can take many forms, from breakout sessions and workshops to keynote speeches and panel discussions. It’s an important element to conference attendance to learn new information, gain new skills, and network with other professionals in your healthcare field. TravCon’s conference can be a valuable investment in your professional development
The TravCon schedule covers subjects like housing, tax basics, life on the road, medical spanish, and resume review as well as sessions more specific to each discipline like nursing or therapy. This year also includes sessions about compassion fatigue, safety and self-defense, and medical missions. There are also continuing education (CE/CEU) opportunities for a number of disciplines including nursing, physical therapy, radiologic technologists, respiratory care, and more. The conference also offers certifications for NRP, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Swag
One of the best parts of attending a conference is the swag, or “Stuff We All Get”! Companies love to give away freebies and promotional items at conferences, but more importantly, swag can help you network and make connections with other people.
Swag can include anything from pens and notebooks to power banks and bluetooth speakers. Be sure to look out for both practical items and ones that will help you commemorate your week. With many staffing agencies in attendance at TravCon, you’re bound to get some awesome goodies and raffle prizes, but you may also find your next travel assignment too!
Professional Networking
There are several reasons why professional networking is so beneficial at TravCon. For one, it can help you build a network of contacts that can offer advice, support, and job opportunities. Secondly, it can help you build your professional brand and reputation. And lastly, it can help you keep up with industry trends and developments in healthcare and travel.
Make New Friends
TravCon can be a great opportunity to network and socialize with your others in your field to build community. It’s also a great way to meet new travel buddies for your next assignment. TravCon is an awesome opportunity to meet like-minded people that enjoy traveling and can share their experiences. No one else can understand your career and lifestyle better than other healthcare travelers!
