Care More Spotlight: Recruiting Relationships

Steven C., RN, has been with Supplemental Health Care for the past two years and has worked multiple contracts in the Northeast. He is very comfortable when the time comes to choose his next assignment because of the relationship he has with his recruiter, Laura Kraswick. Steven recently nominated Laura for Supplemental Health Care’s Care More Spotlight award.

“During my time with SHC, Laura has always had my back. She doesn’t sugarcoat details or hide the truth when it comes to contracts,” he says. “Laura routinely checks in on me to make sure I’m happy with my assignment.”

Laura has been a recruiter with SHC for three years and loves having an opportunity to build relationships and make a difference in the lives of the healthcare professionals she works with. She always stays motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty for the talent and understands how fierce the competition is for their services.

One gesture that truly demonstrates how Laura stands out from other recruiters involves Steven, his wife, and a puppy named Merlot. When Laura found out that Steven and his wife rescued a dog, she sent them an entire care package with toys and treats. That small act of kindness made a lasting impression on Steven.

“As a staff nurse of a major hospital system, gestures like these would never happen. When you have a great recruiter like Laura, they make you feel like your efforts and talents are valued,” Steven shared.

For Laura, those types of actions foster a sense of loyalty and help her generate referrals from the talent she serves. “There are thousands of recruiters across the country,” she explains. “I know that I need to do things that will help me stand out from all the rest.”

In addition to the relationships she is cultivating with her talented travel nurses, she also appreciates aspects of her career at Supplemental Health Care. Especially being part of a team with a work hard, play hard mentality.

Laura’s commitment to her healthcare professionals led her to earn this month’s Care More Spotlight. She has demonstrated the value of staying engaged and caring about those she is working with and the impact it has on them both on and off the clock.
