Supplemental Health Care Celebrates National Care at Home Month

November 4, 2024

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, November 4, 2024 – Supplemental Health Care (SHC) joins the nation in honoring National Care at Home Month throughout November. With a dedicated division focused on home health and hospice care, SHC is a top healthcare staffing and workforce solutions provider in the U.S.

For decades, the care-at-home sector – spanning home health, private duty, palliative, and hospice care – has been a vital part of the healthcare continuum, offering interdisciplinary support that empowers people to recover from illness, manage pain, and find comfort at home surrounded by loved ones. As our population ages, a strong home-based care infrastructure is essential to ensuring that high-quality care is available where most people prefer – in their own homes.

“In-home care offers a unique, rewarding experience for nurses, who bring essential skills and compassionate support directly to patients in their homes. As contracted professionals, they enjoy flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve,” said Tabitha Dowd, RN, MSN, EMC, SOLC, Division Vice President at Supplemental Health Care. “This approach benefits everyone involved: agencies gain experienced nurses, patients enjoy greater access to care, and nurses find fulfillment in providing person-centered care that truly honors patient needs and choices.”

National Care at Home Month is a month-long celebration dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of home care and showing appreciation for the invaluable work of home care nurses and professionals. Throughout the month, the following appreciation events will also be taking place:

  • Palliative and Advanced Care Week – November 4-8, 2024
  • Hospice Week – November 11-15, 2024
  • Home Health Week – November 18-22, 2024
  • Private Duty Home Care Week – November 25-29, 2024

SHC proudly supports the mission of care-at-home services by offering a range of flexible workforce solutions. Our staffing programs provide experienced OASIS RN case managers and hospice case managers to assist partner agencies through 4-week blocks, 13-week travel assignments, open-ended contracts, and even permanent placements tailored to specific needs of patients.
